The past week and half has been hectic. As soon as we came back, I got a really really bad cold that didn't get better for almost a week. I am just now feeling better, but still not 100%. During this time, we have been working on getting the painting done in the nursery because the furniture is getting delivered Friday. We will post pictures once we get the glider and everything is put in its place.
I am 25 weeks pregnant, right around the 6 month mark. I am starting to feel "big" and can only imagine what I will feel like over the next few months as the baby and I grow. Besides the cold, I haven't had any major pregnancy complications or aches and pains. Our little boy now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
Tonight we went to our pediatrician orientation. We weren't sure if we would be the only ones there or if it would be packed. Well, there were about 7 or 8 other couples. Most of the women were much further along than me, but it was a big wake-up call to see them. One woman was due any day. The nurse went over all of the basics and of course there was the couple who had every question (and sometimes answer) in the book, but overall it was informative.
I go to a specialist appointment Friday. We should have more ultrasound pictures to post then.
