It has been a while since I posted an update on Liam. He is growing and changing all the time. Right now, he weighs between 26 and 27 pounds according to our scale and I have noticed that his pants and shirts are shorter so he has to have grown in height an inch or two. It is hard to believe our little guy is going to be 2 in a few months. Liam is putting words together and speaking in phrases now. I love hearing the expression in his voice. He is a warm-hearted little boy who will give a hug to almost anyone he sees. He still loves to sit on your lap and read and read and read. It is really one of the few times he sits still. Liam started gymnastics in February. It is a Mom and Tot class so I really get a good workout too. He loves jumping and rolling and hanging from the bars. I don't have any pictures yet since I am helping him the whole time but hopefully Blake will get to come watch soon and take some pictures while he is there.
Liam is learning more shapes and numbers. He counts like this...1....2....1. We are working on that number 3:) Liam's favorite colors have expanded. He is still a fan of purple but he enjoys all colors now just as much. He loves recognizing letters too. Right now all letters are ABC or just A but at least he knows they are letters. He refers to most things as"my_____" like "my Daddy" or "my chocolate." We continue to work on expanding what Liam will eat. He has eaten breaded chicken and fish a couple of times if he can use his "dip" or ketchup. We have also made progress with peanut butter. If it were up to him, however, it would be a rotation of pizza, grilled cheese and macaroni and cheese. I will say that he does love fruits and vegetables though so that is half the battle.
Liam is wearing 18-24 month clothes and will probably be in 2T soon. He is working on putting his shirts and pants on himself which for now, still needs quite a bit of practice. He enjoys being independent and has also become familiar with what "time out" means and making choices. One choice he vocalizes often is bedtime. He is SO Blake's child. If he is tired, he will skip lunch, dinner, whatever and say"sleepy" and "bed" and until we take him there.
Liam got his hair cut the other day. Usually he sits on one of our laps and at first he screamed like crazy every time. This time he sat quietly sucking on his lollipop all by himself. The lady cutting his hair was so impressed and we were reminded our little boy is getting so big. While we were waiting for Blake to get his hair cut, Liam noticed the tiniest little gnat. He was squealing and laughing because he would try to touch it and it would fly away but then come back. This went on for several minutes and I was reminded of all the little things he sees for the first time. He loves hearing and seeing birds or stopping on a sidewalk or road to see a small rock. He loves seeing and hearing trucks, cars, and airplanes. Blake and I often wonder when this ends and when it is in life that you stop running everywhere out of excitement. It sure is fun to watch our sweet boy grow.
One more note...our little guy is already making an impact in this huge world of ours. There is a young married couple that volunteers in Liam's room at church. A while ago, the wife told Blake that Liam had made her husband get the baby itch. Liam loves this guy. Well just a week ago, we were told they are pregnant and going to name their little boy after Liam...I have to be honest, I teared up a little.

I don't remember what is wrong here but look at that face:(
We had our good friends, Mike and Tara visit with their 6 month old daughter, Madison. Liam was nice enough to share his old baby toys but after a few days of the excersaucer being up, he was in it. I really can't believe he lasted that long.
playing in the laundry basket
Happy St. Patrick's Day
