Liam is 3!!!!

Our little man is 3 years old as of June 1st.  I cannot believe how much he has grown up in the last year.  Independence would be the theme of the year.  Whether it is getting dressed, buckling the car seat, brushing his teeth, or going potty, Liam wants to do it himself.  Liam has been potty trained now for about 6 months.  This does not mean we never have accidents but he is staying dry at night and has not used a pull up in a very long time.

Liam wears a size 3T, is 34 pounds and is 38.5 inches long.  He continues to take one nap a day for between 1 and 3 hours.

Favorites:
Colors: blue and black
Movies: Cars 1 and 2, Toy Story 1-3,
TV shows: Thomas, Chuggington, and Mickey Mouse Club
Foods: macaroni and cheese, corn, rotisserie chicken, roasted potatoes, ketchup (yes it deserves its own food group), blueberries, watermelon, hot dogs, blue ice cream, "bumble bee" cereal (honey nut cheerios), blueberry frosted mini wheats
Restaurants: Waffle House, Taco Mac, and Chick fil A (that is one southern list:)

Activities: playing with friends, playing trains and cars/trucks, playing sports, swimming, dancing, singing, puzzles, and games

Liam loves other people and especially loves "his baby," Marlo.  He is becoming more and more perceptive of people's feelings.  In fact, a few times I have been very frustrated and not hidden it well on my face and Liam has asked, "why are you mad?."

We can slowly start to see Liam's fine motor skills develop.  He can draw a stick person, color more in the lines, and is beginning to write his letters.  He can identify all numbers and letters and their basic sounds.  Liam's memory is getting longer and I am fascinated by the little things he remembers.

Liam is definitely a typical 3 year old as far as testing the boundaries goes.  He will push as far as he can.  We just try to be consistent.  We also talk a lot about using a big boy voice and not whining...I remember my mom HATING whining and I find myself completely understanding this now.

Overall, I love how social Liam is.  I love that he isn't afraid of many things and is excited and curious.  I love that he loves to learn new things.  I especially love how much he wants to be just like his Daddy.  I love his little voice and how he can't quite get some sounds out correctly yet.  I love, love, love this kid and look forward to watching him grow up.

For Liam's birthday party, we went to the local fire station for a tour and then the park next door for pizza and cake.  It was a lot of fun to see him excited for a party just for him.  I was happy that my dad was going to be in town to join us at the fire station.  Liam just assumes Papa is at all fire stations.  He had to have a Thomas cake with strawberry inside so it was kind of a double themed party:)

**Thank you to my friend Christie Carey (3cexpressions) for taking many of these pictures, especially while taking care of her newborn and 2 year old!
