Marlo is 11 months old now. She is walking around things, climbing, crawling up stairs, and happy to be even more mobile. Marlo has started talking. Her first word was "dada." We weren't sure if it was intentional but then each time Blake walked in the room, she said it so we knew she knew what it meant. About a week later, she said "mama." I just love hearing those words. She also says "ya" a lot. This past week she added "woo woo" to her vocabulary as she plays in the fire truck cozy coup...her favorite toy!!
Marlo has thinned out this month. We have noticed some of her baby rolls disappearing and she has definitely gotten longer. I can tell it in her clothes. Marlo is still wearing 12 month and 6-12 month clothes but will be switching up to the next size any day. She got on the scale the other day and it said 22.8 pounds. If this is correct, she has hardly gained anything from her 9 month appointment but that would make sense with all of her activity.
Marlo continues to take two naps a day and sleep about 12-13 hours at night. We are very thankful for our good sleeper.
Eating is about to change for Marlo. Starting this month, I have begun to wean her from breastfeeding. My goal is to be completely done right before her first birthday. I am happy I was able to do this for the full first year, like with Liam. Marlo eats 3 meals a day and doesn't really snack much but as the milk feedings drop, we will add in snacks and a cup of milk with meals. I am hoping she takes a liking to the sippy cup. She will drink from it now but she isn't super interested. Marlo continues to eat almost anything. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this, especially when we are out to eat and I can just give her whatever I am eating. The other day, she even tried Blake's chili and wanted more. Liam is a good eater but it has always taken him time to warm up to foods...not our Marlo:)
This next weekend we will have our Baby Dedication for Marlo and an early first birthday party for her. I can't wait to celebrate our little girl!!
