BEACH!!!!

The entire time we have lived in Georgia people talk and talk about these awesome trips to the beach every year and we have only been maybe twice and never with the kids.  This year we decided to take a family beach trip.  It was awesome!!  So often we are on trips to see family but not really vacations away as a family.  It was nice to spend some quality time together.  We went to a beach just west of Panama City.  We stayed in a condo in a building called Splash.  There were several pools/kid play areas and it was right on the beach.  We enjoyed spending the mornings at the beach, searching for shells, riding the waves, building sand castles, going out to dinner, miniature golfing, looking for crabs at night, and walking around the shopping area nearby.  We even took a walk on the pier one night and saw many many professional fisherman catching and filleting fish.  At the end we saw one catch a small shark!!  Of course now, Liam is going to think that is completely normal but we tried to assure him he is super lucky to see that.  I was so surprised that Liam wasn't phased at all by the filleting of the fish to eat.  He was fascinated with the whole process and really just took it for what it was and moved on.  Marlo and Liam loved the beach...by the end:)) Liam loved it right away but was tentative getting into the waves.  Marlo hated the sand on her feet but was fine with the water as long as we were holding her.  She finally warmed up to it by the end and became quite brave by the water.

I thankfully just hit week 13 of pregnancy and had a complete change in how I was feeling.  I had much more energy and my nausea was gone...just in time!  The only "problem" was that I didn't quite look pregnant yet, just like I had maybe eaten too many doughnuts.  Speaking of doughnuts...there was a delicious doughnut place right down the street from us.  If you make it down that way you should definitely go.  It's called Thomas Donut and Snack Shop.  Blake and I also had oysters for the first time.  We weren't brave enough to have them raw but we had them with bacon and cheese and onions on them....YUM!

While we saw jellyfish and sting rays from the beach and from our balcony everyday, we were lucky enough not to meet one up too close.  It was so nice to be able to go to the beach the week BEFORE Memorial Day and beat the summer rush.  I am hoping to do it again next year...we will see though, with another little one in tow.
