Today marks 6 weeks since Liam was born. I went to my 6 week doctor's appointment this morning and everything looks great. I don't need to go
back for a year! My blood pressure has stayed normal and my weight was fine, still have some to lose but I guess that is to be expected. I asked if I would be more likely to hemorrhage next time since it happened this time and I was told that I really am not more likely but the doctor's will be on watch and prepared just in case. I got the all clear to exercise and do all normal activities again.

We have had quite a busy past couple of weeks. We went to Illinois for the 4th of July and Blake and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary on the 6th. Since we were still in Illinois on the 6th, we celebrated this past Saturday night while Aunt Laura came and watched Liam. We stayed close to home, so I could feed/pump but it was nice to get out. We went and saw the hangover, did some shopping, and went out for sushi. I was told that I still cannot have raw fish since I am breastfeeding so some of my favorites were out but we still had some good rolls. I enjoyed a nice glass of wine(even though my tolerance is so low I felt like I drank a whole bottle) and we headed to the Cheesecake Factory for dessert. Definitely a splurge, but super enjoyable.

The 4th of July was filled with meeting LOTS of family and friends. I have included some pictures. It was extremely exhausting but good to see everyone. The car ride went well too. Liam slept most of the time. Liam has been smiling a lot. Before we left for IL, I was the only one that had seen him smile but as soon as he met Blake's Grandma Sayre, he flashed her some of the most precious smiles ever. In fact, I think he was saving them for her the whole time. He got to meet his second cousin Harlow, that is about a month older than him too. It was interesting for us to see just how much babies change from month to month.

Liam is getting stronger and his head/neck control is getting much better. He is focussing on us so much more when he looks at us too. The hair on the top of his head is growing back. He continues to wake up to eat about every 3-4 hours at night, sometimes less. He has moved to his crib and is sleeping just fine. This has helped Blake sleep a lot.

I am staying very busy during the week trying to keep up with everything around the house but still get out enough to feel like part of the outside world. Unfortunately a lot of my friends are heading back to the teaching world in a couple of weeks. As the summer ends, I am realizing just how much I will miss teaching my sixth graders but am also very happy to have the opportunity to stay at home and do my most important job ever. As I get adjusted, I will be looking into other ways to "be a teacher," either at church or in the community. We will see.
