It has been way too long since my last post. We have been trying to update a few things on our computer which means I have not been able to upload pictures and update the blog. This past month has brought a lot of changes for our little guy. Liam is eating cereal twice a day, no longer being swaddled to sleep, rolling over all the time, and only waking up once at night. He enjoys sleeping on his side, back and belly. Liam has also found his toes and feet and loves laughing while playing Peek-A-Boo. We have been singing a lot in our house too since Liam will stop crying almost always if he hears us sing "Old McDonald" or "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" We have been back to the doctor again for an eye infection so we also know that at 5 months, Liam weighted 17 pounds 9 ounces. He is growing like crazy. Liam has become quite social in the past month also. He loves to see his Waumba Land weekday teachers and greets them with smiles and talking. He also has been talking to the other babies in the room. When we go places, he now smiles at strangers and waits for a response. It is amazing how a baby can bring a smile to almost anyone's face. Liam is trying to sit up but just as he seems like he has it, he falls to the side. He sure is working on getting some strong abs though. He continues to love his excersaucer and any toy that lights up or makes noise. He is chewing on things a lot but no teeth through yet.
SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP. Can you tell that I miss it?? I told Blake that I am dreaming of the day when I get not only a full nights sleep but get to sleep past 7:00am on a weekend. As of this last week, Liam has dropped one of his nighttime feedings on his own. His schedule has adjusted a little but for the most part, he is going to bed around 7:00pm and sleeping until 6:30am with one feeding, usually around 1:00am. We are still working on naps. Liam is now able to stay awake longer in between his naps and I am hoping that if we time this right, he will sleep for more than 40 minutes at a time. As I type, he has been asleep for over 1 and a half hours. The goal is for his morning nap to be between 1 and a half and two hours. I say this because when Liam is happiest, it is when he sleeps this long for his first nap and then takes two other shorter naps during the rest of the day. He has done this several times but still inconsistently. As he gets older, this will continue to change but overall, I just want to get past these 40 minute napping cranky days. I think we are getting close.
Blake and I are doing well. We are heading to our first Georgia football game in Athens this weekend. We have lived here for 6 years and still haven't been. It is about time. We got our first real babysitter besides family and friends. I am hoping it all goes well. For Thanksgiving we will be going to Blake's grandma's house with all of his family. Some of them haven't seen Liam since the 4th of July so it should be fun.
Once again, there are a lot of pictures. Enjoy!
