Liam was 11 months old on Saturday. We have noticed that he has grown a lot this month. He can reach things that didn't used to be a problem and he slowly seems to look like less of a baby and more of a toddler. He is walking around tables and from one place to another as long as he can hold on. He also has climbed a couple of stairs but has not attempted the whole staircase, which we are more than OK with. He is truly into everything and all over the place. His favorite cabinets are the pots and pans and Tupperware. He has broken a few child locks trying to explore other place that are off limits. Liam is determined to play in Duncan's water dish no matter what. When told "no" he will quiver his bottom lip and cry but only until he is distracted by something else. With all of this activity, we have had our share of bumps and marks from falling. Liam is a tough one. We stay busy and make sure we get out each day to different things. Liam's teachers continue to describe him and curious, talkative, and very active. He continues to love going to his weekday class on Tuesdays and the gym daycare while I work out. It is nice to see him excited to go to these people when I drop him off and know they take good care of him.
Blake felt at least one back tooth coming in a few days ago. We think he has to be teething because he is chomping so much on his fingers and is more fussy than usual. He also has officially left his mark on his crib with several teeth marks. I knew this could happen but I really don't like it. Oh well, I guess he is just leaving memories. Liam is eating mainly finger foods at this point. He doesn't really want purees except for applesauce and a few others. He prefers garlicy Italian foods over most others. The most surprising food that he is loving right now are fresh tomatoes. He even ate some bruschetta. We are still working on getting more meat in. So far Liam has eaten ground meat in things, ham, and meatballs. His favorite snack is yogurt. He often cries when it is gone because he likes it so much.
We had our first night away and Liam had his first night with Aunt Laura. We went to Steeplechase and then spent the night at a cottage at Barnsley Gardens with some friends. The day was full of horrible rain and storms but it was nice to get away for a night. Liam did so well and when we got home, he looked at us like "why are you here?"
Liam continues to say mamama, dadadada, and has developed the "g" sound over the past day or two. He has so much expression and says so many different sounds. If only we knew what he was actually saying:) Liam continues to be a ham and even smiles for the camera now when you say "cheese." You will see his "cheese" face below.
We are planning a small 1 year family birthday celebration and look forward to celebrating our little man on his big day in only a few more weeks.
I found Liam like this while I was vacuuming his room.
CHEESE!!!
Loving the pots and pans
I found Liam like this in a big pot. I had to take a picture.
Blake and Liam
Steeplechase
Blake's dad made this rocking horse for Blake's 1st birthday and now Liam gets to enjoy it.
Liam was trying on his life jacket for our lake trips this summer. It really squished his cheeks.
Liam loves his tunnel.
