16 Months

So grown up...

I like this picture because he looks like he is really up to something. He has also started walking around with his hands behind his back.

Football..no matter where we are, if he sees football players on TV, he yells "Ball!"

Liam has learned what "say cheese" means and this is his cheesy face

After over a year of hating hats, Liam now loves to wear Blake's around the house

Liam wanted to be a big boy and have his snack at the kitchen table. I love this little face!

Liam is now 16 months old. Not a whole lot has changed from last month as far as what he enjoys doing, what he likes to eat, or how big he is. He did however, drop a nap a few weeks ago. I knew it was coming. He just stopped taking his second nap for a week straight so we decided it was time. Since then, he has been going down for his nap between 11:30 and 12:30. I read that it will take time for them to lengthen this nap so right now it ranges from 1hour to 2 and a half hours. I always enjoy the latter. Liam is happier and I can actually get a few things done. I am really enjoying the freedom of having less of a schedule.

Some of our favorite new words of Liam's this month are "punkin (I know my Mom will love this), Duncy (Duncan), Elmo, cookie, puppy, Oma, Papa, fish, and pizza, which he really says like pizzzzzaaaaa" Can you tell that is one of his favorite foods? We are working on Grandma and Grandpa in time for their visit in November. Liam loves his grandparents and Skypes with them often. He now goes to the computer and asks for them. So cute!

Liam still loves any and every kind of wheeled vehicle. He even turns his food into cars at times. He loves being outside and helping me cook in the kitchen. After several days of him wanting me to hold him while I cooked so he could see, I pulled out a tall chair for him to sit on and watch. He has been happier and "helped" me, for now, this means that he just samples the ingredients. Liam got to go to Music class this week for the first time at Weekday. He had a blast, especially because they were singing "Five Little Monkeys," one of his favorites. He loves music and dancing so much. Liam also has taken up RUNNING this month. Fun for him, a lot of extra exercise for me.

Liam is mainly in 18 month clothing right now. He is in between sizes so the 12-18 month clothes show his belly and the 18-24 month clothes fall off of him. He understands so much and is starting to tell us when he has a dirty diaper. He follows directions more and more. Of course, this is selective based on if there is something more fun to do.

Liam has 12 teeth still with 4 more coming in. They really don't seem to bother him anymore after he once again spent a nap time gnawing on his crib. We got a guard for the front so he decided to switch to the side. I told Blake that since the crib turns into a toddler bed and then a headboard, he can just keep the teeth marked frame as a reminder of his lovely work until he is 18. Blake thought that was a little harsh but I wasn't kidding.

We have enjoyed being home this month and are headed for some fun fall family days coming up. Blake had some extra vacation and took several Fridays off. We are going to go to the apple orchards this week and hopefully to Amicalola Falls for a hike another. From there who knows. It will be nice to have an extra day to our weekend.

On another note, after several years of me asking him to get his nose, and tonsils checked out, Blake has been going through a series of tests and sleep studies. On November 11, he will have surgery to get his tonsils removed and deviated septum fixed along with a few other little things while they are in there. He will stay overnight at the hospital for them to monitor him for a night since they are doing so much. Then, he will have at least a 2 week recovery. Luckily the Sirons are coming here for Thanksgiving. This is one of those times that being so far away from family really stinks. Luckily Laura is around. She is a HUGE help.
