Potty Training

About three weeks ago, we decided to get serious about potty training.  For over 6 months now, Liam has been interested in going potty on the "big potty chair."  He watched his classmates do it and he thought it was fun (when he wanted to do it).  I tried on two occasions to potty train and by the end of the day, he was crying and refusing to continue.  I knew he wasn't quite ready yet.  Well after Christmas, we decided it was time to try again.  We went out and Liam picked out his Thomas the Train, Toy Story, and Cars underwear and he was super excited to wear them.  We also got him a few potty books.  His favorite was a pirate potty book with a pirate hat, pirate songs, and stickers.  I have to say, after a few days, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it was going. He has done a great job!  His treat of choice for #1--a marshmallow.  His treat of choice for #2--hot wheels car (we had to up that one to get him excited:)  We are so proud of our little guy.  We still put him in a pull up at nap time and night time.  I think that is more for me than for him because he has kept it dry all but two times in the past three weeks.  I just really am not ready to risk it yet.  As we expected, potty humor has set in as well.  I guess he is a typical two and a half year old.  Also, the boy refuses to wear pants unless we have people coming over or are going somewhere.  You will see what I mean in the pictures.  Here are some pictures of the proud little guy.

Pirate Liam showing off his marshmallow...look how excited Duncan is in the background:)

So proud!

Just another day in the kitchen cooking with Mommy.
Needs the apron but no pants???
I will save this for when he is 18!!

Dancing in his underwear...he will kill me for taking this picture when he is older but I had to post it.
