Marlo--4 Months

Well I am a little late in posting but Marlo is 4 months old now.  At her appointment, she was 16 pounds and 26.25 inches (95th percentile for both height and weight).  She is wearing 3-6 month and/or 6 month clothing.  She has learned to roll over from front to back but not the other way yet.  Marlo is no longer being swaddled while sleeping and did just fine with the transition, thankfully.  Marlo has found her tongue and hands and is fascinated by both of them.  She has also found her big brother.  This may be one of the cutest things ever.  She is often smiling at him and he doesn't even realize it.  She watches him all the time.  For now, I will take it and remember this when they are steeling toys from one another and fighting like only siblings do.   Overall, Marlo is one smiley, happy girl.

Sleep, well....Marlo was sleeping through the night (12 hours) or getting up 1 time at most around 3 or 4am BUT then she got sick right around the 4 month mark.  After getting up with her because she was so miserable and couldn't breathe, our little girl decided she liked the nighttime attention and wanted to keep it up when she wasn't sick.  Of course, her daddy and I did not feel the same way.  We decided it was "cry it out" time.  With Liam, this was a very short period, like one or two nights at most.  With Marlo, the little girl is giving us a run for our money.  On more than one occasion she has cried for 1.5 to 2 hours.  It KILLS me.  I am trying to remember that I want her happy and don't want her to be getting up 4 times a night every night but it is so hard to hear her cry.   I think we are getting close to the end of this stage.  She has gone back to waking up once a night to eat with a few nights last week of crying.

Marlo continues to go to "school" Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-1 while I volunteer.  She is doing well.  Since she is feeling better finally, we will be starting cereal within the next day or two.  I am not in a hurry for this since it is just one more thing to do but I think she is ready.  Here are a few pictures of our little girl from the past month.
