Every summer, my side of the family plans a mini vacation. In years past we have done a lake cabin or trip to St. Louis but this year, we decided to enjoy the beautiful sites and attractions of our hometown, Bloomington, IL. We called it our Siron Staycation. We took the kids miniature golfing, fishing, swimming, out for icecream, and did lots of fun summer things we all love. We had a great time even though the temperatures were breaking records. When we went fishing, all three of the kids caught a fish within about 15 minutes of being out there. I couldn't believe it! We went on a boat ride and then headed back for naps. The miniature golf and swimming/water park were part of State Farm Park, which is where my mom works. I don't know why we haven't done this more often. The kids lasted about halfway through the miniature golff course but enjoyed watching where their ball would go. The swimming was my favorite part. It was like a mini water park. Liam went down the slides like a champ, even flipping around on his belly in the middle (we later found out this was against the rules--oops). Marlo enjoyed the lazy river along with all of the fountains of water everywhere. I can't wait to go again.
