Liam's First Days of School

This past week Liam started preschool at a new school.  Since he was born, I had always volunteered at our church and he attended their on-site preschool/weekday program.  Since I no longer am volunteering, we switched schools.  He is now attending Creekside Christian Acadamy on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9-1:00.  Liam was ready for school.  He has always liked it and is such a social and curious kid.  I have to say that being on the parent side of a classroom is very interesting.  I know how to read between the lines of comments that are made and see what the teacher really means.  I also enjoy the parents that stand out the first day of orientation and don't even know that they are setting themselves apart.  I have a huge fear of being "that parent."  I am trying to keep a good balance of my involvement and Liam's independence.  This isn't hard to do with a child that basically says, "see ya later" on the first day:).

Monday we went to the Meet the Teacher hour and then Wednesday Liam had his first day.  Since Blake was out of town Wednesday, he went with us on Monday.  We went out for breakfast, a tradition we have started on the first day of school.  Liam wanted donuts but since the donut place is closed on Mondays, we went to his old stand by..Waffle House.

After his first day, I did not get much information out of the little guy.  This is hard for me because I am used to picking him up from his class, knowing the teachers, and getting a run down of the day from them or his daily sheet.  He actually told me he just played by himself and then smiled.  He says this because I always ask him who he played with and I think he was a little tired of answering so he thought he would be funny.  Eventually, I found out he was able to play with some boys in his class.  This is a new thing for Liam since his classes in the past have not had other boys in them the majority of the time.  Liam will have chapel, spanish, music, and PE throughout the week along with his classroom activities.  We have also signed him up for soccer, which will start in a couple of weeks.  Liam is very excited to be at his "new 3 year old school."

Waiting to get in and so excited!!

A nice woman took our picture but clearly there was something way more exciting going on because both Liam and Marlo are looking right at it instead of the camera:)
