Halloween 2013

This year the kids got to wear their Halloween costumes a few times.  To start, they had super hero day at church.  Liam got to wear his Spiderman Ironman costume and we got Marlo a Supergirl costume.  She wanted to "fly" the whole time she had it on.  Both kids had their school parades next.  Marlo was a butterfly princess for her actual Halloween costume.  She waved to everyone from the stroller like she had done this parade thing before.  My favorite moment for Liam's parade was that he stopped right by us to give Marlo a high five before going on.  After Liam's parade was his class party.  I signed up to help with this since right now is probably the best time for me to volunteer before I have a little one to worry about with Marlo.  Blake and I went and the kids had fun making crafts and eating their treats.  The next day was Halloween.  To say the kids were excited would be a huge understatement.  We practiced with Marlo saying "Trick or Treat."  When we first asked her what she should say when she rang the door bell, she said "Open the door.":)

When nighttime finally came, the kids FaceTime/Skyped with the grandparents and then were off to get their candy and see all the fun costumes.  Thankfully, Laura came and handed out candy at our house so both Blake and I could take the kids out.  Marlo didn't quite get her "trick or treat" down every time.  In fact, many times she yelled it from the driveway before she got to the door, but it was still adorable.  Liam was an old pro and probably could have gone all night if he didn't complain about how heavy his pumpkin was getting with candy.  Eventually, we headed home to sort the candy and see all the great things they had gotten.  It was a very fun night for all of us.

Last but not least, we were invited to a birthday party of a neighborhood friend, Sophia, the weekend after Halloween.  The kids got one more shot at costumes and each got an amazing balloon creation.
