April 12, 2009--32 Weeks

Today marks 32 weeks. I apologize for not posting in a while. I have been on spring break this week and we have kept very busy. Last weekend Mom, Dad, Lucas, Tori and Reagan came. Mom and Dad left Monday and Tori, Luke, and Reagan left Tuesday morning with SNOW on their cars. We enjoyed some great food, birthday celebration and even a little hiking. I also started my biweekly doctors appointments this week. Friday Blake and I joined some friends for the Braves opener and Saturday we celebrated my birthday with a nice dinner and then went out to a fun place for cappuccino and dessert. We wanted to take advantage of our time just the two of us. It is hard to believe our lives are never going to be the same.

Starting next week I will go to my regular OB on Tuesdays for non stress tests and then Fridays will be at the specialist for ultrasounds just making sure our little guy is growing like he should. This week the reports were great. My blood pressure was better than it has ever been--Laura says maybe I should stay on spring break. Wouldn't that be nice:) I have posted a new picture of his face and a picture of his little hand.

Our little boy weighs about 4 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long. I am now predicted to be gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to the baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.

Overall, I feel great--not any new aches and pains just yet. I am still sleeping well and able to work out. Over the past few days I have noticed that it is a little harder to bend over, shave my legs, get up from the floor, etc.. I am feeling bigger each day. The fun part is that I get to feel the baby move so much. He is still very active.

Here is a new belly pic of me and a couple ultrasound pictures.

Sleeping well??!!! You are SO lucky. That's probably because my belly was like double your size at 32 weeks!! I am going to hope that the sleeping is better & I don't look like I'm carrying twins next time around. OMgosh- It's getting so close now. I can't wait to meet little Baby K!
