March 30, 2009--30 weeks

We had quite a busy week/weekend. On Tuesday, I did my three hour glucose test and PASSED!!! I was so relieved. On Friday we headed to the specialist and got some great new pictures of our little guy. I will post them below. Then, Rick and Jean passed through to spend the night before heading back to Bloomington from Florida. We went to the Sweetwater Brewery and out to dinner. Nothing says designated driver like a pregnant lady so of course everyone had fun and made it home safely. Saturday was our second shower. Laura, our friends Rise and Eric, and our friends Phil and Erica threw a couples shower for us. We really just wanted a party with all of our friends and that is exactly what it turned out to be. It was a lot of fun. I will post pictures when I get them. Sunday was our hospital tour. Many of you know that I get a little queasy when it comes to hospital related topics, smells, etc.. Well, I did fine. It was actually comforting to see where everything is going to take place. We were very surprised at how big the labor and delivery rooms are. The room where I eventually will spend most of my time was fine also, just about what I expected. We headed home and then had dinner at a friends house. Needless to say, we are exhausted today but remembering that these are the kinds of weekends we won't be having for a while so it is important that we enjoy them now:) Next weekend Mom, Dad, Luke, Tori, Reagan, and even Hawkeye are coming (Duncan can hardly wait).

As far as updates on the pregnancy, the specialist visit went so well. We were in and out in about an hour, which is the shortest time we have spent there yet. My blood pressure was lower than it ever has been. Weight and all other details were normal. During the ultrasound, they checked for the right amount of amniotic fluid and checked all of his organs and size. Our "little" guy has gone from the 48th percentile to the 55th and on Friday was in the 68th percentile for size. He is weighing around 3 pounds 10 ounces! We hope that he is one tall boy if he keeps growing at this rate. The doctor just laughed at us when we asked if we should be concerned. She said no need to worry unless we get over 80%. I go back in two weeks to both doctors. I will start a routine Tuesday/Friday schedule. I will see my regular OB on Tuesdays and Specialist on Fridays from then on out. They have explained that this is the best way to keep me monitored. So far so good. We are hoping everything continues to go well.
Here are the ultrasound pictures. One is 3-D and one is just a regular profile picture. The 3-D one is with his arms covering his face. I sometimes sleep with my arms up by my face so I thought that was funny to see. Who knows if he will sleep like that when he is out and free. We of course think the pictures are adorable. It is so fun to see pictures of this little boy moving inside of me all of the time. He is very active and I love it! I am not sure how I will feel once he gets bigger, but for now I am enjoying it.

How wonderful! We are so excited to visit! Reagan keeps saying everyone's names and then GEORGIA real loud. :)

Aren't the 3-D ultrasounds cool? I think he looks like Blake!
We were able to get them with our girls, and they pretty much looked just like the ultrasound. It was too cool!
