13 months

Well by the time I am writing this, Liam is almost 14 months old, but oh well. We have had such a busy summer. It started with Liam's first birthday, a trip to the mountains, a trip to the Ozarks, a trip to IL, a trip to Tennessee, and now we are finally home again for a month or so. It was SO nice to see a lot of our family. Liam did well on our trips.

Liam is growing so much. He took his first steps right before he turned 13 months but didn't really want to take more than a couple steps until this week. As of today, he will walk across about half a room. His hands are in the air and he gains speed as he goes in all directions. It is so fun to watch. Along with him learning new words like HHHHHOOOOTTTT(hot), go, mo(more), panting like a dot, moo for a cow, yes, wawa (water), Liam is signing "please" now. He even points to the refrigerator and just starts signing before we know what he wants. He definitely knows that he gets something if he says please. Liam loves dancing. He claps, bounces up and down, from side to side, and whatever else he wants to do. With the fun things comes the "real" fun things like climbing all over, running when he is doing something he shouldn't, and the continuous battle to get him dressed, change a diaper, and not throw his food on the floor. He is becoming a toddler.

Liam now has 12 teeth. The top eye teeth decided to make an appearance on the fourth of July. Unfortunately, this meant the worst of the teething pain we have seen for Liam. He just kept biting his hand and crying. Luckily, after a few doses of Tylenol, he was doing better and ready to play. With the new teeth, he has been able to try more foods. Especially with vacation, he has tried some nice treats as well. We now officially know that he likes Chick-fil-a french fries.

We are working on breaking Liam of the bottle right now. We finally got him drinking cold milk out of a bottle so a week ago, his bottles disappeared and he has been only getting milk from a sippy cup. This has not been a smooth transition. He misses the bottle but we are doing our best to distract him and make sure he gets enough calcium from other sources until he warms up to the idea. He drinks lots of water from the sippy cup so we know he can do it. I guess with time it will come.

Liam is working on blowing kisses and has the sound affects down but not the motion. He loves putting lids on things and taking items in and out of baskets or bins and putting them back in. He continues to have limited separation anxiety. He is still taking two naps a day and sleeping well at night. He is wearing 12-18 month clothes and I would estimate he is around 23 pounds.
