Safety Town

One of the summer camps we signed Liam up for was Safety Town.  It is a program through our county where the kids talk about fire, water, playground, stranger, electrical safety and just about every kind of safety imaginable.  I would highly recommend it to everyone.  Liam came home each day sharing what he learned and was excited to keep going.  Ironically, the only day he had a hard time with was fire safety.  The fireman set off a smoke alarm to show the kids what it would sound like and Liam really freaked out.  He has been around fire safety his whole life and is not a fearful kid at all.  I was so surprised.  That night, he asked me many many questions about our exit plan and what if.....  I assured him we had a plan and that is all we can do.  We prayed for safety and I ended up sleeping in his bed that night.  After a few days of this and him doing practice exit drills on his belly with Marlo, he calmed down.  I am so glad he went through all of that now though instead of when there was really a fire and he was too scared to get out.

The last day of camp, the students had a little program.  So fun!
