May 10, 2009--36 weeks

Today is 36 weeks. We realized today that we only have three weeks/weekends at the most to ourselves. We decided to spend some time relaxing, taking naps if we want to, and just hanging out with each other before our lives change forever.

Our little guys is getting pretty cramped and I am growing out and out. He is putting on about an ounce a day. If he is keeping up with the predictions of the doctor, he should be over 6 and a half pounds right now. I feel great and am hoping that the aches, pains, and swelling hold off as long as possible.

My doctor's appointments went well this week. My blood pressure is still good and Baby K passed all of his tests for the week. Next week I will have the Strep B test along with my regular non-stress test. I don' t think they will do another ultrasound measurement for two more weeks. My regular OB discussed with me that if Baby K does not come on his own, I will be induced between 39 and 40 weeks, which would be the first couple days of June.

School is winding down as well. We have two more full weeks with students and then a few days of post-planning after Memorial Day. To be honest, I am not even thinking about school being over. I don' t think it has hit me all that I will not be returning. I have been so focussed on the baby coming that I haven't really had my normal excitement for summer. I am trying to enjoy my last couple weeks. My students this year are a great group and I couldn't be more thankful.

Many of you have asked for nursery pictures. This weekend we tried to get the items on the wall that we have purchased but since one of the designs involves his name and the other design is going to need some more time, we decided to go ahead and post pictures of the nursery now and we will post some final ones when we get everything on the wall. We hope you like it. We really do!

In this first picture, Blake is sitting on a rocking horse his dad made for him for his first birthday. Rick and Jean brought it down when they came to visit in March. I thought since the blog hasn't had many pictures of Blake, we needed some. Duncan decided to join him too.

The room looks great! You guys did such an awesome job. I'm so impressed.

Now, if we only knew the name...

Yeah - you're so far along. Be thankful that you're carrying Baby K like you are and don't have the aches and pains. That makes the end of pregnancy so much more enjoyable. The nursery is super cute. I love the little nook. That will be so nice now and for reading books as he gets older. I'm so excited for you 2.
