May 3, 2009---35 weeks

I apologize for not posting lately. I have needed Blake to take new belly pics and we finally got around to it today. We have had a busy last couple of weeks. Blake had a true southern experience last weekend and went to Taladega for his first Nascar race. He enjoyed a guys weekend while my friend Jen came to visit me here. The weekend was beautiful. She helped me plant some flowers and we relaxed and caught up. This week Blake's coworkers threw us a shower on Tuesday. I took the day off so I could go. It was a surprise shower for Blake. The night before, he asked what time I was coming the next day...needless to say, he figured it out ahead of time. Thursday, one of my classes decided to surprise me with a baby shower. I was really impressed because they had planned it all themselves with the help of my team teacher. They got a cake, refreshments, balloons, and were very generous with gifts. I was surprised and thankful. This weekend was spent getting the last items on our registry and finishing up some little projects around the house. We got the majority of our hospital bags packed as well.

I have had 4 doctor's appointments since my last post. Overall, they are going well. My blood pressure is staying in normal range. I have had minimal swelling. In fact, the last nurse that saw me on Friday said I had the best ankles she had seen all day--I'll take the compliment. A week ago Friday the ultrasound measured how big our little guy was. As of that day, April 24th, he was 5 pounds, 11 ounces. He was in the 77th percentile, which the nurse said is between average and big. We are hoping he is just tall. I will continue my Tuesday/Friday doctor's appointments until our little one arrives. I have posted an ultrasound picture from this past Friday. The technician and I thought he looks like he is smiling in the picture.

We are getting excited to meet our little boy but I am also anxious about the first few weeks/months. I think that is pretty normal. I just know myself well and know how emotional I can be normally, especially when I am tired. Add in extreme hormones and who knows what kind of crazy lady I may turn into those first weeks. Maybe you should say some prayers for Blake:)

Here is my most recent belly pic and ultrasound.
