Stone Mountain---May 2014

The week after school ended for Liam, we decided to take a little staycation to Stone Mountain.  We did this last year and really enjoyed it.  We stayed at the Evergreen Marriott at Stone Mountain.  There is a nice pool for the kids and a nice spa for Mommy:)  I didn't take advantage of the spa last year but I sure did this year and it was awesome.  The pool was fun for the two older ones since it was their first dip in one for the summer.  Arden was not a fan.  The water was pretty cold.  She was much happier lounging in a chair on the side while her big brother and sister played.  We went to the park for two days and it is amazing how slowly you go through things with three little ones.  It took us two days to do the ride the ducks, barn play area, ride the train, ride the sky lift to the top of the mountain, do the ropes course, water area, and I am sure more. The one things we didn't get to do was see the laser show.  It's season didn't start until the day we left.

The ropes course was the talk of the trip.  I love things like that...or so I thought.  I am not afraid of heights and was so excited when Liam and I decided to do it together.  After getting in there, I quickly suggested we start on the lowest level and then just see if we wanted to do more.  The hard part was that Liam was so short that he needed help moving along because his rope holding him kept getting stuck on its track above.  You would think I would be able to help him but when the course got difficult, I thought I might actually knock him over.  If we fell, it seemed we would just be hanging from the rope attached to us...nowhere to fall onto.  Anyway, eventually, a worker came and helped Liam around while I survived the course and made it to the end.  Hands down, Liam was way more brave than I was!!!  The kids were thoroughly exhausted when we left and so were we.
