Liam is 2!!!!!!!

A warning--this post will be a little long for my own personal journaling.

On June 1st, Liam turned 2.  He has been practicing announcing that for a while and can't quite get the fingers to follow.  What a great little boy he is!!  He is 29.4 pounds and 35.5 inches tall.  Liam is an active 2 year old who loves cars, trains, running, reading, swimming, singing, dancing, and listening to/making music (especially drumming).  His favorite songs to sing are "ABC"s, "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star", and "The Wheels on the Bus."  At night when we pray before bed, Liam even asks to pray for the ABCs.   Liam's favorite TV shows to watch are Sesame Street, Diego, and Thomas the Train.  He has become pretty good at playing independently and his attention span has grown a little too.   Liam's favorite foods continue to be pizza, grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, watermelon and blueberries.  Thankfully, he also eats many vegetables, yogurt, and pretty much what we eat.  His love of chocolate and ice cream is still around as well.

Liam has been counting to 10 for the last month and is very interested in letters.  He can identify some but not too consistently.  He knows most basic shapes but struggles with square and rectangle.  Liam is quite the outgoing, social little guy.  When we are out playing at a park or the pool, he will go up to other kids as soon as they come by and start talking to them.  He also has become great at ordering for himself at restaurants since we had no kitchen for about 3 weeks.  Usually it is "grilled cheese and juice please."  Liam's vocabulary is large and you could catch him speaking in simple sentences pretty often.  We are working on manners and most of the time you will hear a please or thank you.  The big one though is "excuse me" instead of "move." He also has down "bless you" when someone sneezes.  As with most two year olds, we are also working on sharing.  Liam has been trying to share his toys with Duncan and doesn't quite understand why Duncan doesn't take them.   While we would like to pretend we have the perfect child, Liam has his share of time outs as well.  He is testing us and his boundaries daily, but we remind ourselves that this just makes him normal.  He is interested in going potty sometimes but hasn't shown too much consistent interest.   He does ask to go about once a day.  I am struggling with when the "right" time is to potty train.

Liam is just under 30 pounds and is wearing size 2T, which is a little big on him.  We go to the doctor for his 2 year check up next week so I will report his official stats later.   He continues to take 1 nap a day for usually between 2-3 hours.  He often asks for bed or tells us he is tired--so much like his Daddy!!  As we see more of his personality coming out, his looks along with his actions say Blake all over them.  Our little baby/toddler sure is looking and acting like a little boy more and more.  He has wiped a few kisses off his cheek and doesn't always want a hug from his Mommy or Daddy if he is too busy but I have to say, watching him grow up has been so much fun.

Liam at his gymnastics night..he was so proud of his medal.

Ok, over the pictures

Aunt Laura came to visit too!

During our downstairs floor remodel we couldn't use our kitchen so cake and present time was in our bedroom.  Liam didn't care of course.
