"Watch Out!! New Floors!!!"

This quote can be heard from Liam still to this day.  I guess the whole experience of having our entire downstairs, stairs, and upstairs hallway floors redone really left an impression.  The "watch out" comes from trying to have him be careful while things were under construction, but also because we had no spindles under the banister along our stairway, even looking over our two-story family room.  He heard that phrase quite a bit I guess.

About a month ago, we began the process of having our floors redone.  We needed new floors in our kitchen and decided to put hardwood floors throughout our first floor.  We also had our stairs, banister, and upstairs hallway redone.  We went with a darker color and I have to say, we love it now that it is done.  During the 3 weeks we had no kitchen and very limited access to our downstairs.  We went out to dinner each night and tried to stay super busy during the day, coming home only during nap time.  We basically lived out of our bedroom and bathroom like a small hotel space.  I had a card table and microwave set up in our bathroom and our food was in rubbermaid bins in a spare bedroom.  Liam ate many meals in our bedroom on his little toddler sized table.  The last week we were in Illinois while they finished the smelly steps.  Overall, it was much better than we expected.  The company did an amazing job.  Here are some pictures of the process.

All the yellowish stuff is the glue that was used to put down the original floors.
