Snow Day!!

We got our first snow of the season a few weeks after New Years.  Unfortunately, Blake went out of town right before the snow started so he didn't get to enjoy it with us.  We ended up with about 3 inches.  This was a historical event because the snow started around noon on Tuesday and most schools were in session and people were at work.  We managed to make it home before the roads started to get bad but by the end of the night, several people in the Atlanta area had been in their car for 5-10 hours or more or were stranded and had to find temporary shelter.  Some kids were even stuck at school.   We made the news several days in a  row and the city was literally shut down.  Thats what happens when an entire city decides to go home at the same time.  I am so thankful the kids and I were home enjoying the snow from our warm house.  Laura, however, wasn't as lucky.  It took her over 8 hours to get home that night.  I am so glad she made it safely.

We enjoyed sledding, making snow angels, drinking hot cocoa, and making snow ice cream.  Duncan enjoyed the snow too.  He loves playing in it as much, if not more, than the kids.
