Liam Starts Tball

Ever since last spring, Liam has been asking to play tball.  He got a tball set for his birthday and has been excited to practice being the hitter and the "glover."  We had to correct that eventually and tell him he was fielding/catching:)  He started practice at the end of August and we were so excited to see he has a GREAT coach!  The team is made up of 3 and 4 year olds.  The funny part is that his coach is actually from Lexington, IL, which is where my family lived until I was 11.  It is a super small town and the chances of meeting someone here in Cumming Georgia who even knows where that is, isn't likely.  He also went to Illinois State, the same college as Blake and I.  Small world!!

Liam is learning to catch (scoop up like an alligator), hit, run the bases, and throw.  I have really enjoyed watching him learn and get excited.  The dads get to participate a lot too, mainly to help the kids go around the bases and field balls.  Blake is having fun:)  Last Saturday was the first game.  The format is that all the kids get to hit and run the bases and when one team has been through their line-up, the teams switch and the other teams does the same.  This lasts until the hour game is up.  I have to say the kids did so well hitting and running the bases.  The fielding is humorous to watch because every kid runs to the ball as soon as it is hit.  It is really cute!  Marlo enjoys watching her big brother and doesn't understand why she can't go out there yet.  When Liam comes in she runs to him and says "good job, Liam."  We look forward to the rest of the season.

Here are some pictures from practice and the first game.
